What we do

Every profession on the site has a dedicated page with a full explainer, a salary table showing annual, monthly, fortnightly and weekly pay before and after estimated tax, the qualification needed to enter, the realistic career ladder above it, and a photo gallery. On top of that sit comparison tools: the pay pyramid, the numeric rankings, the qualification groupings, the pay-versus-education analysis and the wage calculator.

Our methodology

Salary figures are global benchmark medians expressed in US dollars, drawn from published national labour statistics, industry salary surveys, recruitment agency salary guides and advertised remuneration ranges. We publish a median rather than an average because a small number of very high earners distorts an average badly in commission and ownership roles.

Real pay varies with country, city, employer size, experience, overtime, shift loading and licence class. Treat every number here as a benchmark for negotiation and comparison, not as a quote. Where a role's earnings are unusually uneven — sales, business ownership, resources rosters — we say so on the page rather than hiding it inside a single figure.

Independence

Rankings are ordered purely by pay. No employer, agency, school or advertiser can buy a position, a rating or a mention. The site is funded by display advertising, which is clearly labelled and kept out of the ranking logic entirely.

Corrections

If you work in a role and our number looks wrong, tell us. We would rather be corrected than confidently inaccurate — use the contact page and include the source if you have one.
